How to play bridges puzzle online

Connect every numbered island into one network. A number is the total number of bridges touching that island. You can put one or two bridges between a neighbouring pair.

Five rules

  1. Use horizontal or vertical bridges.
  2. Connect only the nearest island in that direction.
  3. Use at most two bridges between the same pair.
  4. Bridges cannot cross or pass through another island.
  5. All islands must belong to one connected network.

A small deduction

2 ○ ═ ○ 2

If these are the only two islands, they need two bridges between them. When an island needs one bridge and has only one neighbour, that bridge is forced.

Make a bridge

Select one island and then an aligned neighbour. Repeat that pair to cycle from none to one, two, then none. A green outline means an island’s count matches; a red outline means too many bridges touch it. Matching all counts is only part of the puzzle: separate groups still need to join.

Hints and controls

Each puzzle has one solution. Hint removes an excess or wrong bridge before adding a correct bridge.

Tab to an island and press Enter or Space to select it. Left and Right arrows move focus through islands in reading order. Undo restores the previous move, including a hint or restart.

Your progress

Each puzzle keeps its own moves in this browser. Choose another puzzle to revisit it. Undo also takes back a hint or restart. If saving fails, the notice gives the reason and a recovery action. Damaged saved data is kept until you explicitly replace it.
